Composite Doors an UPVC Doors Specialists – Head for Reversible Windows
Published Date: May 23rd, 2009Category: Home Improvement Info
Each year, several thousand people are killed or injured as a result of
falls from height, which is why we should all try to encourage the use
of products that minimize these risks and fitting reversible windows,
where appropriate, is one way of achieving this. Here, Martin Saunders,
Sales Director at Eurocell, answers a series of questions that explain
why the company recently launched a new reversible window system.
What are reversible windows?
Reversible windows are designed to provide easy on-going maintenance of
windows for multi-storey buildings. The sash is designed to slide and
tilt through 180 degrees, thereby enabling it to be cleaned in safety,
from inside the property. We redesigned the standard reversible window
to allow the sash to tilt completely outside the building line, so there
is no disruption to curtains, blinds or ornaments on the window board.
What other safety features does the window have?
Our reversible window incorporates child-safety catches, which restrict
the aperture so that children cannot fall through, while still allowing
high levels of ventilation. A night vent also allows fresh air into the
room during summer, whilst the window is locked for safety.
Additional safety features on our reversible window include an
internally glazed unit, which again avoids the need for external access
should the glass need replacing in the future. It also means that glass
on ground floor levels cannot be removed by burglars, therefore
providing homeowners and residents with added peace of mind.
