ARIMIDEX

Arimidex or Anastrozole – as it is better referred to in medical parlance is one of the wonder drugs of modern medicine considering that it is the drug of choice in management of breast cancer. The Canadian and the US market being more familiar with the trade name Arimidex.

• BREAST FEEDING

Those on Arimidex would well be advised to avoid breast feeding – nursing babies – considering that unwanted side effects could well be possible

• DRUG INTERACTION

Studies indicate that Arimdex could well have side effects or compromised potency when used in conjunction with other medicines:

- Estrogen containing medicines like Climara and Alora are known to decrease the efficacy and working of these medicines.

- Tamoxifen is known to concurrently decrease the efficacy of Arimidex.

STORAGE PROTOCOL

Arimidex needs be stored in a pre – defined protocol, which could well address:

• Needs be stored away from direct sunlight and heat
• To keep out of reach of children at all times
• To avoid refrigeration – Freezing being inadvisable
• Heat and moisture being known to disintegrate the medicine – to avoid storing in Bathroom cabinets or close to kitchen sinks.
• Outdated or expired medicines are best discarded without delay.

ADVERSITIES AND ARIMIDEX
